My journey to becoming a therapist began with the desire for creating a community that is inclusive, caring, and accessible. My background growing up in a bicultural space as a gay Mexican-American man in Texas helped me gravitate towards helping people from different identities. As a first generation college student, I was struggling to identify a career path that shared my similar values. When I took an American Sign Language class my world changed. I found a home in rehabilitative services and decided to dedicate my career serving the disability community and other marginalized groups.

While I do not have a green thumb for most plants, orchids became what I was successful growing. I developed a fascination with understanding the world of orchids and trying to collect them all. I now have 95 beautiful varieties of orchids I grow and collect. Orchids inspired the name for my counseling business. During sessions, you are likely to see my orchids on display behind me. 

In my free time in the spring and summer, you will find me outside on roller skates, playing tennis, or going for a run. In the fall and winter, I am on ice skates, and staying in to watch and binge my favorite shows — Charmed (my comfort show), Parks and Recreation, and anything Marvel. Lastly, I love Mexican food and try my best to have a list of tasty restaurants in Colorado that are not afraid of spice.
