Hello! I’m Tate, an emerging professional counselor candidate and recent graduate from UCCS, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2026. I have experience working with young children, pre-adolescents, and their holistic care teams to provide comprehensive support during times of transition, offering a safe space to process difficult experiences. I value developing trusting relationships with clients and their key support systems to create a strong therapeutic environment and a team approach to care. My journey towards counseling began in my home state of Arizona, where I did case management for families involved with the Department of Child Safety. This experience working with resilient children and their families impacted by incredible adversity propelled me to become a counselor for children with adverse childhood experiences. I was able to witness firsthand the devastating impact that childhood trauma can have on youths and their families, inspiring me to shift into a role where I can facilitate long-term support. Outside of the counseling room, you can find me exploring my new home of Colorado through hiking and road-tripping. During the hot summer days and freezing winter months, I tend to stay inside, either doing crafts, reading thriller novels, or watching my favorite reality TV shows.

Let’s get to work!
